Belimed and Haldor Advanced Technologies Ink Partnership Deal

Belimed Inc., a Switzerland-based manufacturer of cleaning and sterile processing systems in healthcare and life sciences, is partnering with Israel-based Haldor Advanced Technologies Ltd., a provider of radio frequency identification (RFID)-enabled surgical instrument management solutions for the healthcare industry.

Under the terms of the new agreement, Belimed will market Haldor’s ORLocate system as a complete solution in conjunction with Belimed’s processing equipment to provide and document real-time information about each sterile processing cycle.

ORLocate is designed to help hospitals reduce costs associated with surgical instrument shrinkage as well as provide accurate usage data on each instrument to optimize instrument set size and overall inventory. According to Haldor, the “state-of-the-art system” also improves staff productivity and accuracy by actively guiding and monitoring the technician’s entire workflow cycle to ensure compliance and improve patient safety by managing infection control and the prevention of retained surgical items with accurate instrument level data.
